About

Daniel Sengenbjerg is my name and I’m the luthier behind Sengenbjerg Guitars. I graduated from Carl Malmsten/Linkopings Universities guitar-making programme in 2006. During my education I learned the art of lutherie and built a number of various types of guitars such as classical, flamenco, steelstringed and archtops. During spring 2005 I built the guitar that would earn me my Journeyman’s Certificate. After the examination I was rewarded with a small silver medal with the points 4.6 out of 5.0. In June 2006 I presented my graduation paper and left school with a Bachelor’s Degree in Guitar Making. I have since then built and repaired instruments for a long list of clients, shops and musicians. Prior to my enrollment at Linkopings University I completed a 3 year education in Model Making and Prototype Design.

When it comes to building guitars I have a clear vision and philosophy that I build towards. Each instrument, with no exception, has to fulfill each customer’s wishes and requests.

I myself am a big fan of the guitars built during the 50′s and 60′s. My interest and passion for the guitars built during these decades drive me to build guitars that are of a new and unique design but shows where I found my inspiration. I honour and respect the designers and builders that came before me.

Each element of the guitar is as important as the next. I therefore carefully choose what parts and materials I use in my guitars and the way I build them. Each specimen is built in close contact with the customer so that the outcome is exactly what he or she wants. Nothing is left to chance and absolutely nothing is left half done.
